Seamless surfaces in Alta Quartzite with a natural surface
Sorrisniva in Alta is a unique hotel and experience complex where architecture, material selection and landscape are closely integrated. In this project , Alta Quartzite tiles with natural surfaces are used both inside and outside to create robust, durable and visually coherent surfaces with a clear anchoring in the northern Norwegian nature.
The use of the same type of slate inside and out provides a seamless transition between interior and exterior , where the material connects entrance zones, common areas and patios in a natural and elegant way.
Norwegian slate adapted to Arctic conditions
Alta Quartzite is particularly well suited for projects like Sorrisniva, where the climate places high demands on both durability, slip resistance and stability. The natural surface provides good grip, while the slate's play of colors and structure adds warmth and depth in combination with wood, glass and steel.
