Northern Lights Bath
The Nordlysbadet is a modern and widely used public swimming facility with high demands on function, safety and material quality. In the project , Alta Quartzite is used as a floor and wall material in central public areas, walkways and pool areas , where durability, slip resistance and longevity are crucial.
The natural surface of the slate provides safe floors in wet zones, while the material adds a calm and timeless expression to the facility. In the face of large glass surfaces, water and light, Alta Quartzite helps to balance the architecture and create a holistic experience for the users.
Natural stone is particularly suitable for swimming pools and public buildings because of:
- high wear resistance during intensive use
- good non-slip properties
- resistance to moisture and temperature fluctuations
- low maintenance requirements over time
In the Northern Lights Bath, Alta Quartzite functions both as a technically robust material and as an important architectural element that emphasizes the quality and durability of the facility.
